Alright, I say this every time—“Once I buy this, I’ll be happy.” Maybe it was a new phone, that viral dress, or even a fancy water bottle because apparently, hydration is a whole aesthetic now. But then, guess what? A newer, shinier version comes out, and suddenly, what you have feels meh.

And it’s not just you or me. It’s all of us.

We keep telling ourselves, “Just this one last thing,” but that “last thing” never really ends. Why? Because trends don’t stop. Social media won’t stop. And even our own minds won’t stop comparing.

The Cycle of ‘I Need That Too’

Okay, you’ll definitely relate to this… You’re happy with your wardrobe—simple, stylish, and totally you. Then, you meet your friend, and she’s wearing that dress—the one that celebrity wore last week. And suddenly, your closet feels outdated. You weren’t even thinking about buying something new, but now? Now you feel behind.

And it doesn’t stop at clothes. It’s the newest phone. The trendy coffee machine. The ‘perfect’ aesthetic life that someone else seems to be living. No matter how minimalist you try to be, the world keeps whispering, “You need more.”

So, How Do We Stop?

The truth is—we can’t escape trends. But we can escape the pressure to chase them.

✅ Realize that “enough” is a mindset, not a number. You don’t need more to be happy; you need to start valuing what you already have.

✅ Pause before buying. Next time you want something just because it’s trendy, ask yourself: “Do I really love this, or am I just caught up in the moment?”

✅ Detach self-worth from stuff. Your value isn’t in what you wear, drive, or own—it’s in who you are. And trust me, that never goes out of style.

At the end of the day, happiness isn’t in the next big thing. It’s in knowing that even without it, you’re already enough.
